Crag features

Single pitch routes. In need of traffic! Combined with a visit to Linshiels Three, this is worth visiting. The routes are evenly spread throughout the grades.

Approach notes

Along the road, 3km west of Alwinton. Park near Linshiels farm and follow the track S to the farm. Contact the army on 0191 2611046 to check on access, even if the red flags are flying.

Restricted Access

The crags are on a live firing range - there is NO access to the crags when the red flags are flying. A phone call must be made to Otterburn Range Control prior to any visit. The contact numbers are (0191) 239 4261 and (01830) 520569. If the crags are open - permission will be given over the phone and a booking reference will be given. This must be noted and quoted to range control staff if requested. On leaving the range, climbers must call range control to let them know you have left. DO NOT TOUCH OR REMOVE ANY OBJECT FROM THE OTTERBURN TRAINING AREA, IT COULD KILL.
