From J40 of the M4, head for the lovely steelworks and turn right at the traffic lights. Follow the main road past the railway station (if on foot get the train to here) and continue round the roundabout following signs to Cwmafan. Continue down the road by the high wall, until a set of steps can be seen up the wall. Park about ¹ mile further down the road on a lay-by on the left hand side (avoid the parking space in the lane between the steps and the lay-by, as there is a sloping forehead type who gets very narky, as the world wonât see his hideously bedecked and modified Cavalier if you park in front of it). Walk back up to the lay-by, pointing and laughing at the aforementioned vehicle. Climb the stairs to reach a path that leads up rightward to the crag. Summer visits will probably be impossible, due to seasonal vegetation
