Nice crag for beginners in terms of difficulty, however may of the problems are fairly high and many of the top outs are on slopers, difficult for the grade, several mats would be a good idea! As it is sandstone, best avoided when wet as there are many thin holdes and ledges which will snap off easily when wet.
On the B6341 towards Rothbury, there is a layby about half a mile past the two parking areas for Corbys Crag. The Widehope forest is entered from a forestry gate about 100m down the hill from the layby.
Follow the foresty track left through a second gate and into the forrest, about 500m later there will be a track turning left up to a small third gate, the crag should be visible. the large wall visible on the left of the crag as you look at it is Path Buttress, with Snapper Prow just out of site to the left of it.
