The large (ex-railway) embankment on the approach to The Cornice (WCJ) is made of blocks of limestone. it is about 25m high and at an angle of about 45degrees(slabby) great place for setting up abseils or a start to climbing (although it is more like scrambling.

Park in Cressbrook and aproach as for The Cornice (WCJ) you leave the main path and join a dissused railway the embankment is below you now.
