Edelrid Corbie Rope, 103 kbThe Edelrid Corbie 8.6mm Triple Rated Rope
The 8.6mm Corbie sets a new standard for triple-rated ropes. Certified as a twin, half and single rope it sits at the top of EDELRID’s Pro Line collection boasting the full range of treatments: Pro Shield for top class performance; Dry Shield for superior water and dirt resistance and Thermo Shield to provide excellent handling characteristics.

Despite being the thinnest triple-certified rope on the market the Corbie offers uncompromised performance for sport and alpine sport climbing, as well as being suitable for indoor, alpine, ice and mixed climbing. Take a look at the specifications below for the full story:

Diameter (mm): 8.6
Certification: Single / Half / Twin
Rope Type: Dynamic
Weight (g/m): 51
Sheath Proportion (%): 29
Number of Falls (--): 5 / >20 / > 25
Impact of Force (kN): 9.3 / 6.4 / 10.0
Dynamic Elongation (%): 32 / 29 / 29
Static Elongation (%): 8.3 / 8.3 / 5.2
Sheath Slippage (mm): 0

The Corbie is also as environmentally friendly as ropes get. It is manufactured under the bluesign® system allowing for the following savings to be made: a 62%
reduction in CO2 emissions, an 89% reduction in water
usage, 63% less energy consumption and 63% less
chemical usage.

Due to its incredible diameter we recommend using the Corbie with our Jul family of belay devices when belaying and abseiling. To ensure the device fully locks we suggest belaying with the Mega Jul when using the Corbie as a half or twin rope, and the Micro Jul when using the Corbie as a single rope.

That’s why we’re giving away two pairs of 60m Corbie ropes, each with a Mega Jul and Micro Jul belay device – valued at £440 per set.
