Everest in 8 hours and 10 minutes

Pemba Dorje Sherpa has set a new fastest time for climbing Everest climbed the mountain. He took the astonishing time of only 8 hours and 10 minutes to complete the distance from Base Camp to the summit by starting at 6pm on 20th May and reaching the summit at 2:10am on 21st May.

My g/f takes that long to get up, pack and climb to Heather Terrace.

Naismith's Rule would give an ascent time from Everest Base Camp to the summit of 7 1/2 hours!

Just over 22ft per minute. Quite good going really, I reckon.
