Manchester gets a wall at long last

© Zoobizooretta
Manchester, the third largest city in the country and yet it has never really had a modern climbing centre to call its own. Manchester climbers have had to travel to Warrington or across the Peak to the Sheffield walls for many years. But now the Manchester Climbing Centre has opened its doors. Like Bristol and Awesome Walls in Liverpool, it is an old church conversion which gives a great atmosphere and plenty of height, however they can also feel a little cramped. Early reports are of a good wall with excellent routes.

Yea! good, been twice. Staff pleasant and welcomming. The church has been fitted out nice. The price? not too bad, I remember paying £5.00 when Rope Race first opened and that must 10 years ago. I'm hoping to visit at least once a week. Jeff C.
