V16?

© Beat Kammerlander
"I am fascinated of at first sight unclimbable projects - of futuristic lines - not knowing if they're possible or not and I am in search for the hardest possible move so far, but also of an approximate perfect and esthetic line." said 27-year old Bernd Zangerl of Austria and it looks like he may have found it. In the Austrian mountains Zangerl has climbed Memento, a seven-move power problem, and has proposed the grade of V16 (font 8c+) based on a track record that includes repeats of Dreamtime (pre-chip) and New Base Line both regarded as V15. Two other V16's have been proposed but not yet confirmed Dai Koyamada's Wheel of Life in Australia and Italian Mauro Calibani's Tonino '78 in central Italy.
