Organised by the Mountaineering Council of Ireland, this is the first of their events celebrating the United Nations International Year of the Mountains in 2002.
The BMC has been invited to nominate 15 representatives to take part in the meet with the aim of promoting interest in the climbing at Fair Head and establish ongoing links between Irish and UK based climbers. Becuase the climbing there is of the unrelenting kind, applicants should be capable of leading routes of E1 or above.
The Mountaineering Council of Ireland will provide all accommodation and food during the event, as well as transport from local airports and to and from the crag.
