Rockfax in copyright dispute with Coronn.com

Swedish based website Coronn.com has been advertising free topos for download. Closer inspection has revealed that many of them show a remarkable similarity to some existing printed guidebooks. The Mallorca and El Chorro topos are almost identical to the topos in the 1996 Costa Blanca, Mallorca, El Chorro ROCKFAX. The Frankenjura topos are very similar to those published in a guidebook by German author Bernhard Thum. Although Coronn.com deny copying the topos they have offered no explanation as to why their diagrams contain all of the minor errors which were present in the 1996 ROCKFAX.

ROCKFAX and Bernhard Thum are currently taking legal advise on the matter. All German and UK climbing magazines are now refusing to take further advertising from Coronn.com. Viruses are also reported in some of the downloads.

No I think your initial guess may well have be correct. The Snoopy cartoon was just a jpeg, unlikely if not impossible that the virus could be carried by a single jpeg. Alan
