Hamer Smashes North Wales ProblemsLocal News

© Sam Hamer
British junior team member Edward Hamer has had a recent run of form in his half term school holiday.

Hamer, who recently won the BRYCCs at Ratho (14-16 age group) spent his school holiday ticking hard boulder problem test-pieces in North Wales.

His North Wales tick list includes: Trigger Cut (V10), Lou Ferrino (V10), Pythagoras (V10), Jerry's Roof (V9) and Bus Stop (V9).

The 16 year old has also been busy sport climbing recently, with trips to Frankenjura, Zillertal and Arco, climbing up to F8a and onsighting several F7c's.

Ed will be representing the UK with the British Junior Climbing Team at the youth competition in Kranj, Slovenia in 2 weeks time and is “hoping to get onto the podium!”

In other North Wales bouldering news – Pete Robins has succeeded on the desperately hard Pool of Bethesda (V12) and Adam Hocking, fresh from an extended bouldering trip to Switzerland has made an impressive ascent of Mr Fantastic (V12).

More details are on the North Wales Bouldering Website
