At the British Mountaineering Council's (BMC) National Council meeting over the weekend, it was agreed to establish the position of an Access & Conservation officer for Wales on a fixed 3 year contract.

BMC CEO, Dave Turnbull, said: "It's great news that the BMC has agreed to set up this post. The new officer will supplement our two existing Access Officers and should mean improved coverage of access, conservation and land management issues across England as well as Wales."
