![]() Adam Ondra on his recent ascent of Corona, 11+ (F9a+) , Frankenjura UKC News, Jun 2009 © Vojtech Vrzba 16 year old Czech climbing phenomena Adam Ondra has continued his domination of the World sport climbing scene. His recent swift repeat of Markus Bock's Frankenjura testpiece Corona (F9a+) has cemented his already firm position at the very pinnacle of the sport. According to 8a.nu in the last year Ondra has redpointed a gargantuan 58 routes of F8c to F9a+ and onsighted 47 routes between 8b and 8c. On a recent 6 day trip to Kalymnos, Ondra ticked the following routes:
Commenting on Ondra's achievements on the recent Kalymnos festival, organiser Aris Theodoropoulos said: "The pure soul of the Festival was the phenomenal Adam Ondra. Despite his 16 years of age, he has already taken sport climbing to a new dimension. In Kalymnos we were awestruck by his ability, speed and deep passion for climbing. Adam seems to have this effect even on the specialists, as Dani Andrada and Chris Sharma speechlessly watched him breeze through the 9a's in Spain last spring, prompting Chris to declare that he now feels “like an amateur!”.
