Valeri Bababnov to attempt new route on Nuptse

Russian, Valeri Bababnov, who made the coveted first ascent of Meru Central last autumn will be attempting to solo a new route on Nuptse (7855m) in Nepal's post monsoon season. The South East Pillar is one of the Khumbu's last great lines. Brit climbers, Jules Cartwright and Rich Cross, who themselves picked one of the major plums of the area last autumn when they climbed the NW ridge of Ama Dablam, are heading to the Garwhal with Matt Dickinson to try the still unclimbed 'Sharksfin' line on Meru.
