Not exactly news perhaps, as it happened in March last year, but none the less unknown to most: Mr Nicole, Fred this time, has put up L'isola che non c'è
(Neverland), 9th grade (~5.15) in the Amden cave, St. Gallen, Switzerland. The route is around 15m, 12 of which are pure roof climbing. It begins with a sit down start, but couldn't be climbed as a boulder problem because of the high finish, ~10 m off the ground. According to UP-climbing
, L'isola che non c'è
has a climbing style resembling Witness the Fitness
, HCR, and Esperanza
, Hueco Tanks, and a structure similar to Madiba
, at Rocklands and to Cave Rave
in the Grampians.Photo: Fred Nicole on L'isola, che non c'è, by Stefan Kürzi.
