Despite never having climbed there before and only having a few hours, Robinson, who is one of the World's leading boulderers and has previously climbed up to V16/Font 8C+, made short work of the Stanage classics Deliverance (Font 7B+), Brad Pitt (Font 7C+) and The Ace (Font 8B), on which he fell on the last move on the flash attempt.
Robinson, who is on an extended trip to Europe from the USA is now back in Fontainebleau, France, and commented on the Gritstone on his blog:
...Every climb I did and the few brief hours I had on the grit were incredible... Thanks to everyone that showed me around and showed me great hospitality! I hope to get back again one day!"
The Ace, which is the sit start to The Joker, is on the Plantation boulders at Stanage and was first climbed by Jerry Moffatt.
