The Saturday at Leeds Wall will involve each Junior climber that has been invited to top two out of the five routes, set at EYS standard, to obtain (or retain) a place on the GB Team.
An open invitation is extended to those wishing to trial for the Senior Team and they will again have to top two out of the five routes to obtain a GB Team place.
All those that top three out of the five routes will be considered for European competitions this year. The Team Management is pushing forward with its philosophy that performance standards have to be paramount for a GB Climbing Team and this year selection will be grade dependent to reflect this. (Team members that are injured must still attend and provide professional evidence to the Team doctor and physiotherapist of their injuries to maintain a place until they have full recovery.)
The GB Team will be announced later on Saturday afternoon after all the climbers have completed their climbs. Sunday will be spent at The Depot in Leeds with a full training day for the new 2011 GB Team which will be run by Ian Dunn, Tom Randall and GB Team coaches.
