Sasha Digiulian, 18, has repeated Joey Kinder's Southern smoke, 8c+, at the Bob Marley crag in Kentucky's own Red River Gorge.

Magnus Midtboe: My proudest belay yet! I have belayed some strong people over the years, but belaying Sasha on Southern smoke today, was definitely the most impressive belay I have ever done. As far as I know, this is the second female – 8c+ ascents done in the US. It only took Sasha 6 tries to finish this 70 moves + route. Not many women has done the grade. I tried counting today, and I only got to 5 [Bereziartu, Vidmar, Gros, Lavarda, Durif]. We got to the cliff late today, since that's when it's in the shade. After warming up on an 8b Sasha cruised through Southern Smoke, and made it look like a 7a.
