18 year old, Sébastien Bouin has really gone from strength to strength this year. A victory in the French youth cup, his first 8c/+ (Idéal Chimérique" at St-Léger ), his first 8b onsight (at Orgon) and now, his first 9a at Las Galetas, Verdon.
This also happened to be the first repeat of PPP, Adam Ondra's ultra steep variation to Pull over, an 8c+ Sébastien dispatched 2nd go after his success on PPP(I'm guessing this actually means 3rd go as Séb is French;).
PPP can be described as an 8c/+ up to a bad rest which is followed by a couple of brutal bouldery sections on monos.
He had been working the line since last summer and fell with his hand on the last hold more than a month ago, so I gather it was with some relief he finally topped it out last week-end.
