Some years ago we ran a couple of videos from Chris Akrigg. Chris is a professional mountain biker and is from Skipton in North Yorkshire.

Also a keen grit climber and boulderer, Chris is often seen on the local outcrops in Yorkshire, albeit mainly on the smaller edges, leaping around on his bike.

We have just heard that Chris has suffered a bad bike accident this week and was rescued by Calder Valley Fell Rescue and then airlifted to hospital. He has broken various parts of himself and was operated on earlier in the week.

Get well soon Chris!

To keep a little diversity on the site, and to show Chris some support, this week's Friday video is a mountain biking one:

And for those who would rather see something climbing related then here's the trailer for Chuck Fryberger's upcoming film 'The Scene':

Awsom. Mountain biking looks better on video than climbing doesn't it? I'm off to the shed to get my Raleigh Burner out....

I love climbing, but all climbing films are full of big ego's and grunting, Chris's film is full of fun and so much feeling can be had from watching it... he just gets on with it! Makes a refreshing change from the "rock porn" robin warden

That's a zillion times better than watching him jump about on Earl Crag. Great music too. E

Regardless, I still got sweaty palms... I like all adventure sport videos to be fair - they all share that awe inspiring, adrenaline pumping brilliance that really motivates me. Chris' video reminded me of those Danny Macaskill ones that were a youtube phenomena.
