Andy Gullsten, the young Finja (or is it Finnja? Even the term Fininja has been heard) has left Rocklands and is on his way, via Capetown - Johannesburg - Abu Dhabi - Brussels - Helsinki - Wien - Verona, to meet up with Nalle Hukkataival and Anton Johanson in Arco, where he will do it all, i.e Bouldering, Lead and Speed.
His goal for the Rocklands trip was to do one 8A-or-harder/day, and if we give him a little discount for being sick for a few days, that's what he did.
His most impressive ascents were probably the flashes of Shosholoza, 8A+, and Nutsa, 8A, alongside his repeat of Mooiste Maise, 8B/+.
Whether he will be able to make the transition from the rock of Rocklands to the plastic of Arco remains to be seen, but if he does, I think he could do very well. Fortunately the weather doesn't seem to be as hot as it can be at the venue for the World Championships. At least not for the first few days.
