Looking for a new bouldering area to visit and got some vacation left for late August?
Why not go to Västervik, a picturesque town on the Swedish east coast, some 300km south of Stockholm.
25-28 August this town will host the first annual Västervik International Boulder Meet.
Bouldering, partying, sharing experiences, lectures, product testing,
presentations and just basic hanging out together are all on the menu.
The region offers plenty of bouldering, at both developed and virgin
territories. The climbing takes place on high quality granite for the most
part. Currently the hardest problems weigh in around 8B, but there are
plenty of projects.
All visiting climbers get free topos and free transport to the different
bouldering areas and discounts on campings, hostels and cabins.
The city of Västervik is backing this event 100%.
In true Melloblocco fashion, some of the projects will be bounty problems, meaning everyone who manages to send gets some cash.
As this is an international meet, not only the Swedish elite will be there, but also some world class athletes.This is the list so far:
