Caldwell Currently On Major El Cap Project

American climber Tommy Caldwell is currently on El Capitan in Yosemite, attempting his long-term project that links the aid routes of Mescalito and New Dawn Wall. When completed the route will be one of, if not the, hardest big wall free climb in the world.

Tommy Caldwell has been attempting the route with fellow American climber Kevin Jorgeson, but Jorgeson has had to abandon attempts at this time due to an injury sustained whilst trying the route.

Last year Caldwell and Jorgeson also had a major attempt at the wall but were thwarted by a large storm. Fingers crossed the weather holds out for Tommy this year.
