VIDEOS: Alpine New Route Trilogy for Barmasseby Jack Geldard - UKC Chief Editor Nov/2011This news story has been read 4,781 times Italian climber Hervé Barmasse has completed his 2011 project; to climb a new route on three major peaks of the Alps, namely the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa. Back in the spring he started his quest with a four day ascent of a new route, solo, on the South Face of the Matterhorn. Midsummer he teamed up with Spanish top-climbers the Pou brothers and they summitted Mont Blanc by a new route on the Left Pillar of Brouillard. Then when the autumn came, Barmasse teamed up with his father (they are both mountain guides) to complete his 2011 trilogy with a new route on Monte Rosa.
