Last week at ShAFF Dom Bush won third place in the ShAFF Shorts competition with his film My Own Hands. The film explores another side of climbing from the eyes of Ben, a tree surgeon.

Ben lives and works in the Lake District where he runs an ethical tree surgery business called Absolute Treedom. He is keen to share his passion for exploring and climbing trees with others, and to pass on his knowledge of this unexplored organic playground.

Brilliant. I love climbing trees, and do it often - it has the same simple appeal as gritstone soloing, but improved through familiarity.

We descended from the trees millions of years ago. There is something about climbing trees that makes you feel at home :)
