Director of Top Gun, Tony Scott, Commits Suicide

© Grahame N, Aug 1984 Tony Scott, a British climber and famed film director, has comitted suicide by jumping from the Vincent Thomas Bridge, Los Angeles.

Tony Scott was a climber, and in her recent blog, Alison Osius from Rock and Ice Magazine recounts some conversations with Scott in which he details soloing Cenotaph Corner in the Llanberis Pass.

His films included Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop II, Days of Thunder, The Last Boy Scout and True Romance.
