Coxsey Third in Overall World Cup + Munich Results

Despite being unable to compete in the final round of the Bouldering World Cup last weekend due to a broken leg, British bouldering and lead climbing champion Shauna Coxsey has still come an impressive third place in the overall World Cup. Her third place comes from her high scoring positions in the earlier rounds of the competition.

The World Cup is a series of six events and the scores from each event are added together for the overall winner.

The final World Cup round this year was held in Munich, Germany and the winners of that round were Akiyo Noguchi of Japan and Dmitrii Sharafutdinov of Russia.

Team GB put in an awesome performance, with an on-form Stew Watson coming in 6th place in the Munich round and 15th place overall. Mina Leslie-Wujastyk also ranked highly overall with an impressive 19th place.

Flippin' impressive from Shauna and gutting for her that she couldn't complete in the last round. Stu must be one of our best all round climbers, who else has climbed 9a, bouldered 8B(+?) and reaches finals of international comps?

Stu must be one of our best all round climbers, who else has climbed 9a, bouldered 8B(+?) and reaches finals of international comps? Well, if Adam Ondra is right about Hubble, Ben Moon did all that 22 years ago! where's the progression? ;o) BTW - Top effort Shauna!
