World Cup 2012 Final Round and Overall Resultsby Andrew Bisharat - Rock and Ice Magazine Nov/2012This news story has been read 3,037 times The last lead World Cup of the year came to an exciting finish this weekend in Kranj, Slovenia, as male competitors Ramon Julian (ESP) and Sachi Amma (JPN), and female competitors Jain Kim (KOR) and Mina Markovic (SLO) all endured tight battles to get enough points to win the overall World Cup and earn the title of being 2012's best climber.

Had they reached Sachi Amma's or Mina Markovic's highpoints, they would've won overall. Instead, both Julian and Kim came up just short. Markovic won Kranj for the women. Her teammate Maja Vidmar came in third, proving yet again what a powerhouse Team Slovenia is in World Cup competition. Jakob Schubert, last year's World Cup champ, won for the men. Still, his victory wasn't enough to best the number of points racked up in Sachi Amma's tremendous breakthrough year. A well-deserved victory for the reportedly hardworking Japanese competitor.
