First up is a basic video of a one move wonder boulder problem from Dan Varian. This is the first ascent of Great Expectations (Font 8A+) at The Stell, Northumberland.
For some people climbing is about great soaring lines, huge cliffs or imposing mountains. For some, it's about very hard moves. This move looks pretty hard!
At the end of the video is a clip of Dan doing the sit-start (but not linking the whole problem) - showing a very hard boulder project. Good luck Dan on that one.
VIDEO: Dan Varian makes a very hard move
Varian has been out ticking a lot of hard problems recently, and reported on the Elite Bouldering Inventory Website is the first ascent of Home (Font 8B) at Carrock Fell, Lake District.
From the Elite Bouldering Inventory Website: "The new climb takes on the very thin, 25 degree overhanging face to the right of Leopold von Buch (7C) on the obvious wall high above the Northern Group Circuit."
Varian also made the second ascent of Steve Dunning's test-piece Second Coming (Font 8B) at Goldsborough Carr. This could well be 8B+ according to a report on the Climb Magazine Website.

And whilst we are in the good old bouldering mood, lets have a bonus video from Chris Davies. This is a lovely vid of some classic boulders in North Wales. Enjoy!
