In this rather excellent video by Julien Nadiras we get to see Nina Caprez and Cédric Lachat climb two stellar lines at Le Pic Saint-Loup, France.
Nina Caprez makes the first female ascent of Helix, 8c+, while Cédric gets to work on a new line, Kmira, which, like Helix was bolted by Fédric Ferraro.
As it turned out, the complete line was too hard this time, at least 9b according to Cédric, so he decided to try an alternative version which joins Kmira after the first 20 meters of Helix and the crux section of Moshka, 9a, a route he had done earlier. It all makes more sense when you watch the video...
The new route is called Staphylocoque and weighs in around 9a+, making it the third of the grade for Cédric after Chaxi and Papi Chulo, both at Oliana, Spain.
