Robbie Phillips Climbs Bellavista - Dolomites 8b+Video

© Robbie Phillips

This week's Friday Night Video is an awesome 30 minute film from Scottish climber Robbie Phillips. Robbie has just had a successful trip to the Dolomites where he climbed Bellavista (X+) on the north face of Cima Ovest in the Italian Dolomites. This 10 pitch route was first climbed in 2001 by German climber Alex Huber.

With a huge roof crux pitch originally graded at 8c, the route has seen a lot of repeats and the grade is now thought to be around 8b/+, but in a cold alpine environment with difficult conditions. This isn't your typical sport climb...!

It's clear from watching Robbie on Ganga that the reason I was so shit all those years was purely due to lack of effort. Inspiring video, really enjoyed it.

Yeah whatever Robbie.......dodgy pegs.......alpine bollocks......blah,blah. All just delaying tactics which explain why you were looking so weak the other day. Stop messing about and do some proper climbing; get yourself on a 9a before you grow old and even weaker.
