Well known french alpinist & guide Jean Christophe Lafaille (one of this years Piolet d'Or nominees) has fallen which ice climbing near Vail, USA. He took a 20m tumble, banging his head & breaking a shoulder. As a result he's suffering from amnesia; seems he doesn't remember arriving in the USA.
He's expected to be out of action for a while - which will slow him down in his 8 000m peak bagging, he was hoping for his 9th later this year.
