David Lama and Conrad Anker attempt Lunag RiVideo

© UKC News

Below is a fantastic 10 minute video of David Lama and Conrad Anker attempting Lunag Ri (6907m) on the border of Nepal and Tibet.

The Austrian-American rope team gave everything to try and reach the untouched summit. But, as you see in the video, due to freezing temperatures and strong wind the pair were forced to retreat.

“Had we reached the summit, our climb would have been perfect,” commented David Lama. “In turn, we still have our fingers. On the way down, we warmed them in our pockets. They will surely be useful on our next attempt, which we have set our sights on for next year.”

Good luck to the pair of them.

is it me, or does Conrad sound like he really couldn't give a damn? Maybe its because I last heard him talking in Meru, where he is so psyched all the time...

He didn't summit, maybe he was still feeling pretty bummed about it

The Austrian-American 'rope team', and not the only one, I'll hazard.
