Ned Feehally on Voyager Sit Start 8B+Fri Night Vid

© Nick Brown

As reported earlier this week, Ned Feehally made the third repeat of No match for climb id:301048,"Voyager Sit Start" 8B+ at Burbage North (UKC News Report). Tonight we have an exclusive video of Ned's time working and finally completing the problem by UKC's very own Nick Brown.

Voyager sit start was first climbed by Ben Moon on 18 November 2006, almost exactly one year after he made the first ascent of the stand start, an 8B in it's own right. According to Ben "it’s quite a long problem about 12 moves and over a minute on the rock."

Ned climbed the stand start to Voyager three weeks ago in 'a couple of tries' and had been working on the sit start since. He had been waiting for weather windows, whilst trying to get his skin in a suitable condition. 'One of the biggest challenges of climbing it is having enough skin to have enough attempts.' In the end, it took Ned about three sessions to finally climb the problem, after a heartbreaking fall from the very top in his second session.

Ned is sponsored by: Arc'teryx, Five Ten, Friction Labs, Organic and owns a Beastmaker

A lovely little video of something which looks insanely hard (if I did The Sphinx I'd be happy). Bouldering has gone so far... Mick (nostalgic for Burbage)
