After a multi-year on and off siege, Jon Cardwell has repeated Chris Sharma's Biographie (a.k.a. Realization), 9a+, at Céüse, France.

The line that was to become Biographie was bolted and and named by Jean-Christophe Lafaille in 1989. Some years later, Arnoud Petit added an anchor in the middle of the route and made the first ascent up to this point in 1996. The full line was still up for grabs however, and in July 2001 Chris Sharma managed to make the first ascent.

The intermediate anchor was removed some years later.

Chris didn't give the route a grade, but it has since firmly settled at 9a+, which means it was one of the very first of that grade in the world.

Jon's ascent was the 13th (or so). He has previously done several 9a's and bouldered up to 8C.

Interesting because does that mean more American's have done the route than any other nationality? I can think of Sharma, Graham, Pringle, Seigrist and now Cardwell. Five of thirteen is more than one third of the ascents.
