Lisa Rands climbs grit E7

America's strongest female boulderer, Lisa Rands, led her first grit E7 yesterday with a headpoint ascent of White Lines at Curbar. Although originally given E6 by first ascentionist, Johnny Dawes, the route has since been upgraded. Lisa has been quietly ticking her way through many gritstone classics over the last couple of years on visits with her British partner, Wills Young. Other notable ascents include an on-sight of Moonshine (E5), also at Curbar and an ascent of Nosferatu (E5) at Burbage South. Lisa waited until the relative cool of late evening for her headpoint of White Lines, to become the first woman to climb a natural grit E7. Airlie Anderson was the first woman to climb grit E7 when she headpointed Master's Edge, a quarried grit route at Millstone Edge.

Is this the hardest grit ascent by a woman? With all the debate about grit being overgraded and not as hard as us Brits make out it would be interesting to hear what she has to say about it.
