Rockface, Birmingham closes

As of October 31, the Rockface in Birmingham has closed for business.
They released the following statement -
Following an approach by Advantage West Midlands, the Birmingham Climbing Centre Ltd has agreed to the sale of the Rockface site to them. This is a necessary part of the process that allows for the development of Birmingham's Eastside into an exciting and viable quarter of the City, but it will mean that the Rockface will close on the 31st October 2004.

Surely they can't just say this is it & close it - what about all of us that have paid annual membership!
