Jagged Globe summit Everest

© Clive Jones
At 10am this morning, members of an expedition organised by Sheffield-based company, Jagged Globe reached the summit of Everest via the South Col route. This was Jagged Globe's 9th expedition to Everest. The expedition leader, Kenton Cool (left, on the summit) reached the top for the second time in consecutive years. On the North side of the mountain, another Jagged Globe group, which includes Sir Ranulph Fiennes, is at camps 1 and 3, hoping to summit on the 2 or 3 June. The weather has been particularly bad on Everest this year, with a very late weather window and few summits.
