A climber has been assaulted and had his ropes cut while climbing at Vixen Tor in Devon. The climber was belaying at the time but fortunately his leader above was able to retreat safely. The incident happened on Monday 12 September and Police were called. It is understood that arrests have been made.
Vixen Tor has been an access hot spot ever since the implementation of the CRoW act earlier in the year. It was subject to a high profile appeal where the BMC made representations to the week-long inquiry but the Planning Inspector ruled in favour of the landowner - as a result there is no formal right of access to area.
