Pete Robins, Trauma in the PassLocal News

© Jack Geldard

Just days after Nic Sellers' super fast ascent, Llanberis climber Pete Robins has also bagged an ascent of Trauma in the Llanberis Pass.

Pete climbed with Nic last weekend, but fell from the difficult crux moves on his lead attempts. Last night Pete, belayed by 'Choo' sent the route without any falls.

The route is now considered to be E8 6c, a stunning line with spaced but reasonable protection which is very specific (peckers and blind wires).

Pete commented that he considers his effort to be F8a and not E8 as he rehearsed the route.

sounds like it's becoming a bit of a trade route now :p does this mean Pete is going to give all his headpoints sport grades now?

So does that mean he preplaced all the gear, including the crux reach-through wire slot? In which case I can understand the f8a comment. If not, I can't.

Maybe he just means, due to practicing it it felt more like 8a than an E8, as he had the route, including placing the gear totally wired.

If I had done the route I could comment...if not, I can't
