Tom Bolger: Ingravids Extension F8c+

Updated with picture

Twenty-year old British stamina machine, Tom Bolger, now resident of the Catalunyan town of Lleida has just red-pointed Ingravids Extension F8c+ in the awesome cave of Santa Linya. This is Tom's first route at the grade although he has already climbed four F8c's.

Tom gives us the details:

"Yeh first 8c+, I'm really psyched, the route is amazing, really steep and athletic climbing, with the redpoint crux right at the chains, I fell on the the last move before I did it. Took me about 5 or 6 days but I had already done Ingravids first part."

"I'm really psyched for everything out here at the moment, I haven't climbed at Oliana yet but have seen some nice pics and want to check that place out, also psyched for routes at Santa Linya."

He and his girlfriend, Lynne Malcolm have been living and working in Spain for a little while now so I asked him what life out there was like:

"Yeh I'm living in Lleida now teaching English. I think Catalunya is amazing, the crags and the people here are super motivating, I'm really enjoying it. "

Thanks to Tom for the details and to Lynne Malcolm and Maria Torres for supplying the image. You can see more of what Tom has been up to recently at 8a.nu

Nice work. Good to see unheard of Brits aren't necessarily lagging to far behind the euros unlike what a lot of us have been wondering about for a while.
