Stoney PointFri Night Video

© UKC News

We watch a lot of climbing videos here at UKClimbing HQ. There are loads of really amazing videos online, and we are constantly impressed with the standard of film-making by the pros and amateurs alike. But it's not very often that one stands out as being a bit 'different'. This week's Friday night video is a bit different. We liked it.

Cole Gibson made the video and got in touch:

"I've been working on a small documentary about the history of rock climbing at Stoney Point in Los Angeles, California. People have been climbing and bouldering at Stoney Point for 100 years and some of American's most legendary climbers got started there, including Royal Robbins, Yvon Chouinard and John Bachar.

I just uploaded a cool tilt shift video that shows what Stoney Point is all about and I think that you and your readers might really like it. It doesn't contain any pro climbers but I think it's very unique look at bouldering and I've been getting great feedback in the short time it's been online."

Thanks Cole - and good luck with the full film.

Nice video, really don.t see the point of the tilt shift effect here though. In my opinion it only works in one or two of the shots, elsewhere I found it annoying
