The Västervik International Boulder Meet has now begun.
Many of the invited climbers arrived already on the Monday and was out on the blocks the following day. Success came quick for many as both Daniel Woods and Chris Webb-Parsons managed to send one of the projects, thereby cashing in €100 each (until someone else repeats it and gets a share of the money that is). The name of the new problem: More than one way to skin a cat, 8A+. At the same crag, Falla taket, Alex Puccio did David o Goliat, a classic 8A.
Not quite content yet, the posse continued to Björnblocket where, Andy Gullsten and Daniel Woods repeated The Hourglass sds, a magnificent problem that now seems to have settled at 8B.
I'm sure there will be plenty of more news from Västervik in the days to come and I'm going there myself tomorrow.
