Three expeditions are in the running for £1000 cash and £1000 worth of kit from Berghaus. Votes from the general public decide who gets this expedition support.
There is only 24 hours left to vote and this cash could make a huge difference to these expeditions.
Ricky Munday is currently on 275 votes. George Ullrich and team on 252 votes and the Coast to Coast team are on only 4 votes.

Currently in first place is Ricky Munday. Ricky first came on our UKC radar when one of his sponsors, Nite Watches, got in touch with us to promote their athlete (Read Ricky's Nite Watches Profile).
Ricky is attempting to climb the Carstensz Pyramid in New Guinea via its normal route. The expedition will take 19 days and will include the difficult approach and potential political instability of the region. Ricky also intends to record the effects of global warming on the glacier retreat in the area.
Ricky about this new expedition:
"The technical climb on the normal route up Carstensz Pyramid is protected by fixed ropes. However, the main challenge on this expedition is not the climb itself, but a combination of other factors: the difficult approach to the mountain, the political instability in the central highlands, and the knowledge that I will be days from help if anything goes wrong."
Young George, with team mates Pete Rhodes (See UKC Article on his solo of The Scoop on Sron Ulladale), Mason Earl and Mark Rhodes are off to Venezuela to attempt a 600m overhanging wall suggested by John Arran. John told them that the wall "would yield the hardest and most overhanging big-wall free climbs on earth".
George on his expedition plans:
"Our objective is to free-climb this 600 meter high, 35degrees overhanging wall behind the waterfall on Amuri Tepuis. The approach to the south face will require four days of bushwhacking. The wall will be tackled climbing ground up in capsule style, attempting to on-sight (failing that, red-point) every pitch during the ascent. Our aim is to spend any time up to two weeks on the wall, this will give us enough time to wait out any bad weather spells and find the best line up the face."
Third place is definitely lagging behind in votes but they are the: Holloway coast2coast
We haven't heard of them before, but their plan is:
"To lead a group of 3 runners from Cleethorpes to Liverpool, using the Transpennine trail. This adventure will last for 6 days, running the full length and carrying our own gear (clothes, tent, sleeping bag, and essentials)."
