Hayden Kennedy, who recently made the first bolt free ascent of the Compressor Route on Cerro Torre, has now climbed what could be Indian Creek's hardest route with his first ascent of the Kansas City Special Project at the 4x4 crag.

The route had previously been attempted by Nick Martino, who can be seen coming very close to a successful ascent in the below video.

Hayden Kennedy took a few days to work the moves on the route before making a successful redpoint. It is thought the route weighs in at 5.14- or around F8b+ and has called the route Carbondale Short Bus.

Indian Creek is a popular and well known sandstone crack climbing area in Southeast Utah, USA.

Wow! That looks an awesome climb! Those small cams are scary on that rock! I had some much bigger ones blow on me when I was in Utah that seemed solid. Inspiring! Trist
