In this video from back in mid February when Daniel Woods paid a quick visit to Japan, we get to see him make short work of Hydra, 8B, and Catharsis, 8B+, as well as getting agonizingly close on Hydrangea, 8C.
Hydrangea, opened by Dai Koyamada in 2005, adds five fingery moves to the already fingery, and super steep, Hydra, and has, as far as I know, yet to see a 2nd ascent.
