Will Atkinson has just made the first ascent of the 'Moorside Rocks Project', which despite being tried before, has remained un-climbed until Will unleashed his talent for jumping. It has been named Will's Dyno, and given the grade of 8A.
The problem is found at Moorside Rocks and is a direct start to Charlotte Dumpling, which is graded E3/4 5c but is most often highballed at around V2/3. Will commented on his ascent:
"It's the direct start to Charlotte Dumpling. It involves a big dyno to poor holds then a highball finish up CD. I think it might well be one of the most difficult dynos I've done, I managed to get it on my third session. I've given it 8A, it might well turn out not to be, I suppose time will tell. It's a great new problem, I'm pretty chuffed to get the FA."
Will filmed his attempts and the first ascent:
