Jernej Kruder has made the second ascent of Chris Sharma's Pontax, an 8c Deep Water Solo on the famous Es Pontas arch, Mallorca, Spain.

Some great news from Mallorca 😀

Yesterday I made the second ascent of Pontax 8c after 11 years when Chris did it. And I was the only one who stuck the dyno in Es pontas. So Pontax is an easier version of Es pontas, which takes a direct finish after the dyno.

Now me and Jan Hojer are trying Es pontas and we can both do the dyno and slowly progressing higher. We stay here for almost a month and I think we might see second and third ascent of Es pontas. 😀

Jernej says Es Pontas feels totally possible.

So far the traverse is a bit weird, but got there only twice now and it's not too bad.

The race is on for the 2nd ascent of Es Pontas.

Wow. Impressive if they succeed - but 10 years after the first ascent. Is Neanderthal the only other unrepeated, old Sharma route now (not counting El Bonne Combat because it's only from last year)?
