Rockfall on Beinn Eighe's Triple Buttress

On Saturday the 1st of March 2003, a substantial rockfall was witnessed by climbers staying at the Ling Hut. They had been ascending Fusilage Gully when they heard what they thought to be a low flying aircraft. It was later discovered that West Central Gully had discharged a lot of rock, some of large dimensions. Local mountaineers hope to get in there later in the week to report on what effect it has had, especially on routes. It may well be that we now have to make do with the "Double Butresses" of Coire Mhic Fearchair!
