REALrock for youths - learn to lead on trad gear at Scottish climbing walls in March

+None, 103 kb

The MCofS has joined forces with climbing walls to offer REALrock intro sessions for youths on purpose-built indoor trad climbing routes. The sessions will be led by wall instructors and volunteers, and are available for those over 12 yrs old who have indoor leading experience on bolts. Parents may have to attend to supervise their children at some walls.

The MCofS has supported the development of larger 'Regional Centres' with the inclusion of at least one climbing route that allows the use of 'natural gear'. If climbers new to the sport wish to transfer outdoors it is important that they learn the skills of placing such protection.
